Dear Community Member,
It is the time and dedication of talented students and theatre department personnel that make HGHS theatre productions so outstanding. In addition, set design, lighting, costumes and hours of behind-the-scenes work help bring the production to life.
To insure a comprehensive theatre experience for our students we must provide training and opprotunity. We must also provide nails, glue, paint, fabric, wood, gels....
For this reason we invite you to join the Friends of Greeley Theatre, a not-for-profit organization established to help the HGHS Theatre Department continue to produce programs that are a source of pride for our entire community. FGT will help provide financial support for the extras that are not included in the Chappaqua Schools' budget, but are never-the-less an essential part of the magic created on stage.
We invite you to become a member of FGT and to join us in supporting our students.

Grant Process:
FGT’s mission is to provide funding to the Greeley Theatre Department/Greeley Theatre Company for the purchase of equipment and materials that are not covered in the Chappaqua Schools’ budget. While many grants are made for use in a specific production, others can be for special projects. For example, FGT is currently designating $500 per year towards the purchase and installation of a storage facility on the Greeley campus for sets, props and costumes.
Funds, not specific items, are given in the form of gifts to the Chappaqua Central School District. The Chappaqua Board of Education reviews gift proposals at its public meetings and votes to either accept or reject them.
The Greeley Theatre Department Chair submits a grant proposal along with an estimated budget for the productions for which some or all of the requested funds will be used. Grant proposals must meet the following criteria:
- Grant funds are to be used for the purchase of equipment and materials not covered by the Chappaqua Schools’ budget.
- Proposals should benefit the maximum number of students possible.
- Priority will be given to grant items that can be used for more than one production.
- Funds requested cannot exceed 25% of the estimated budget of the production for which some or all of the funds will be used.
I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.
